La Samanna

While staying at Belle Fontaine, we had access to Baie Longue ... and shared this stunning stretch of beach with the luxurious La Samanna Resort.

We spent our last day here at the beach.  Erin left us yesterday to go back to school ... so we are minus one.

After a little sun and sand, we walked up to the La Samanna Beach Grill for lunch.

This trip was the first time our children have experienced another language in action.

The beautiful blues of the ocean with the all white design was exquisite and I could have stayed here all day!

We were really hot after we came off the beach and we were offered the best gift of the day ... A chilled rag to cool off.  This brought smiles all around ...

The kids declared the burgers the best they had the entire trip.  Seriously? We are in a food mecca, and they now can tell you the best place for a burger?!?!

What a beautiful way to end our vacation.  We pretended we were part of the luxury crowd this last day and soaked in every aspect of this gorgeous beach and resort.

This was declared one of our best family vacations.  The time spent together and the laughter we shared was the most precious gift.  It makes heading home and getting back to reality all that more difficult ... but it is time.  Thanks for sharing our trip!

Loterie Farm

Continuing our adventure ... our family needs a mix of activity and lazing ... so we took a trip to Loterie Farm to get our fill of both!

It was kind of like arriving at camp ...

A little cabin for the day with a welcome bottle of champagne ... I like this camp!

BJ Welch, a gentleman from California created a gorgeous respite in the middle of wilderness ... to create luxury and adventure ... and he blended them beautifully!

Loterie Farm began as a land parcel received in a lottery.

While the boys and I enjoyed the pool and "cabana" ... the girls took to the ropes.

After the zip through the forest we headed back to Belle Fontaine and enjoyed the most delightful meal prepared by Margaret who took amazing care of us for the week ...

Ribs, corn, salad, shrimp, pork fried rice and johnny cakes ... life couldn't get much better!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A Day at the Beach ... true tourists!

We packed up the family and headed to St. Martin ... truly a fantasy vacation for us all.  As the kids have grown in age and SIZE!  We no longer fit in a hotel room ... or two ... it takes three.  Well, this puts a whole new spin on spending time together.  So we booked a villa ... but before we check in there ... let me take you to the beach!  Our first day took us to Phillipsburg.  I am generally clueless when we travel ... I am happy strolling along and let Don direct the crew and I just follow along.  So I had no idea this was the beach where the cruise ships dock!!

While we were officially "off season" ... there was still a touristy air to this beach ... so?  We are tourists!!  I will have you know that none of us wore our tennis shoes ... like so many we saw!

Some of the highlights ...

This little lady was selling like crazy ... and I took her photo ... and she caught me.  I am now the proud owner of that white frock with the blue trim! p.s.  they are NOT kidding when they say one size fits all!

From a distance, we thought this was the Blue Birch Bar ... we were wrong.  The kids thought it was fantastic ...

Cruise ship central ...

We did NOT segway ... seriously ... you come off a cruise ship and you put on tennis shoes and you segway?  No ... not us ...

Don negotiated a cool $50.00 deal ... 5 chairs, 10 Beers and 1 Umbrella ... now you're talking!

Then we headed to our home for the next week ...

This was the view from the front door ... this was a really big deal for us ... and we loved every moment, the time together mostly ... the adventures in location, fun and food!

I will share lots over the next few weeks and hope I don't bore you!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
