More HPMKT2014 Inspiration … and what came home!

All those who share my love for animal print and hides … 

Let me put your mind at ease.

It is still hot.

And I would like to say, that while the "hide" has been a trend of late … it is classic … Hides and Animal patterns have been used in Interior Design Forever.  So no fear of it growing old.  It is truly a look I will never tire of.

HPMKT2014 showed me a few new twists that I think you will like!

"Skins" on everything! This is a lamp Base.

Leather. Wood. Brass.

Yep.  Something for Everyone … 

But back to my preference … 

Emerald with Brass Nailheads.

Turquoise with Chrome Nailheads.

And the Pièce de Résistance … 

Zebra and Chrome.  Bring It Home!

So I didn't bring the Chair home … but found this 

Hide Pillow that looks like a Tiara to me.

And she came home.

And she's happy on my Orange Hide Chair!!

With Chrome NailHeads … by the way!!

Friday Snip - Its … Is it over YET?

March is what I am talking about.  ICK.  I am over it and looking forward to April in a big way!!

Here's how I ended the month …

1.  Hoping to use this rug in an office I am working on.

2.  Kitchen Island Legs … in the house. Need them IN!

3.  Paint options for a custom piece in the making.

4.  Beautiful Custom Bedding for a client got delivered.  Stunning.  I need new linens.

5.  Snapchat?  Do you use it?  

It's keeping me in touch with my children!

6.  DIY project.  With Tools.  Be concerned!

7. This Animal Print … someone needs to use this!

8.  These Wood Shade products.  New to me.

Eager to try them out.

9.  Can it be?  Pansies!  Hallelujah!

Have a wonderful weekend, we are expecting rain.

Not your Momma's Blue and White!

Jennifer of The Pink Pagoda Fame is hosting a Blue and White Bash today.  She is asking all bloggers who love Blue and White to link up to her Blog and show their stuff!

Well ... y'all know me ... If I am going to have a little Blue and White ... it is going to have orange in play and also a punch!

So here's my "Not your Momma's Blue and White Story" ...

Bold Wallpaper, perhaps just on one focal wall, BOCA is my choice.  Then you have to join in on the Highly Saturated LACQUER Blue Walls.  And then with such Gloss, you have to have sleek WHITE.  I can see this board used in a bedroom, with two beautiful X-Benches at the foot of your bed covered in ORANGE zebra.  Of course to match the PAGODA mirror. Or then perhaps you would like this mood in your Dining Room and the fun DARYA fabric could grace your chairs.  Or back to a large round lumbar pillow on your bed.  Then the CHARTREUSE chair ... just because it looks hot.  And it mixes things up.  I like to mix things up.  And a nod to settle the whole damn look down, two arm SCONCES ... sleek and simple!

Animal Prints and Gallery Walls

I am doing a little reflecting on my love of animal prints (art and skins) and gallery walls.  I have been spending more and more time with my parents as they are getting older and needing a little more help.

I came across these photos of my Mom in our DEN... remember those, before the Great Room ... but after the Keeping Room!

My sweet Mom ... in the 80's!   You can tell by the "bouf" hair-do and shoulder pads!!  I give her lots of credit.  She is NOT an animal lover, but my Dad is.  So she made the best of it and made it work ... The Gallery Wall.

Sometimes I really do believe that design trends are subconscious ... I might have said this before so please forgive me!  I really believe it ... there is a comfort in things familiar.  Whether it is a good trend or a bad trend.  It's like comfort food.  And Animals and me ... we are always ON trend!!

Little Surprises!

Things happening around the house ... and they have NOTHING to do with housework!!

Gone a couple of days and I  return to find all these goodies in my mudroom!!  Clients are going to be happy and this is as good as Christmas in my world!
