This week is going to be a Putting Together ... of sorts. We need furniture and you know we are working on something custom ... and please, custom by someone else, not ME!!
Here's what is happening now. While considering seating for our keeping Room we came up with three descriptives:
Traditional yet Comfy
Casual but Neat
Slipped for Easy Cleaning
Our room is a nice size, but because it is also in an entryway with heavy use we don't want to overwhelm the space with furniture. So we found the above Slipped Sofa comes in A SASSY Chair and A HALF Yes, not as big as a loveseat but bigger than a Chair!
We are replacing this table for two of these in this space:
Perfect, we'll take two! But we want them in a white Denim Cotton to go along with our Duralee Fabric for the windows:
For the window treatments we found my favorite Iron rods from Pottery Barn ... the reason I like them? They are simple, clean and no finials to "fuss up" the room!! Although I prefer their "looped" rings ... the clips look a little cheap to me ... and if we are adding custom curtains ... we are not going for a cheap look!!
These amazing suzani pillow covers I found at Brimfield in May!
They are going to give our neutral zone a pop of color and happiness!! And ... you are sneaking a peek at our Sutton Slipped Chair and A Half in White!! ... wait till you see the whole thing!
Disclaimer ... there are no dogs in this house!!!!! Which make white a much easier choice than normal!!
Things are pulling together ... make certain to check in next week!
I am going to feature 5 days of Custom Furniture and the ORC Special Piece on Wednesday!
Don't forget to check in with our other ORC's to check in on their progress!!
xo,

It is looking fantastic, Kim. Those pillows are fabulous! Lucky you for going to Brimfield; I have been reading about that place of wonder. The chairs sound perfect. Can't wait to see it all.

What a nice change! I am a complete fan of white slipcovered furniture. I love the pop of color in the space too! It's looking lovely!
ReplyDeleteLooking great! I love those rods too.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress! I am loving the fabric choices!
ReplyDeleteKim - i am so excited for all of your progress. and let me commend you on the Arhaus furniture! My sofa is from there, and while I spent as much on it as a custom Lee sofa, I have no regrets. It's wonderful quality and they put so much into their manufacturing. arhaus just feels like big-box store to me (maybe because i heard all about their process and value when I interviewed there years ago for a store designer position).
ReplyDeleteI love those pillows. What, no dog...what kind of clients are you working for? Just kidding, but they are missing out on some of the most unconditional love there is...better than kids, at times :)
ReplyDeleteThose pillows are going to really make it! Love them. I wondered about the white denim...and then you said "no dogs" ahhh it makes sense. Your room has me on the edge of my seat... err chair and a half :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous pillows. My dog makes far less messes than my husband.
ReplyDeleteLove everything you have done so far and are talking about doing. Totally agree about the clips on the drapery, much prefer the rings and drapery hooks. Love those pillows!
ReplyDeleteThe curtains rods and pillows look fabulous! Excited to see your progress next week!

Hi Kim, I love how your room is coming together. Those pillows are such a fun and beautiful addition! It must be so calming to be able to do the ORC and know what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteThe pillows are amazing! I've been dying to go to Brimfield, I have a feeling I'd be renting a Uhaul!
ReplyDeleteI love those pillows! Brimfield would be a dream....if only I lived closer.
