How do you like me now? ORC Update!

Linda, prompted by Elisa ... is doing a little espionage work to see if we actually have done anything different to our original ORC rooms.

Here's my Round Up
Go Here to check out all the other Rooms
Made Beautiful during the ORC!

My First ORC... for a young family ... while the pieces are the same in their family room, it is now filled with their love!

My Second ORC ... turning an unused eating area into a Keeping Room for a young family to gather, wait for mom to finish cooking, and read books. The only change they made?  A new puppy!!

My Third ORC, here's where things start to change.
My Office Illusion ...

What's different ... this illusion was ripped down and here is my NEW reality and it is NO illusion!  Definitely a contender for the April Link Up!

10' X 7' ... remnants of a Dark Room.
All Mine.

My Fourth ORC I joined in the ORC Link Up Party ...
Our Powder Room.

What's different ... we Moved.  I am now faced with this.  I cannot even call this a Powder Room.  Another Contender for the April ORC Link Up.

I'd like your Opinion ...
Which one would you like to see me tackle in April?

Powder Bathroom OR my No Illusion Office?
And, YOU can help me Focus!

Plus ... Pick a room and join the Link Up. Here's HOW.
You need some Motivation?  This is It!

Firecracker, Firecraker ...

"The boys have the muscles, the coaches have the brains, the girls have the sexy legs and we win the game!"

Yup, Week Four of the Six Week ORC Link up, Grab yourself a room and do it now kind of situation!  Thanks to Linda of Calling It Home ... there are a crazy lot of folks out there truly transforming a space in 6 weeks.

Let me tell you ... I know this is no small feat!  I participated in the first three ORC's ... you can see what I did here:

And now I am Linking Up to the official party. Every Thursday anyone who wants can motivate themselves to get involved.  And then once you are in ... the motivation and sheer pressure by your peers to get a move on ... well, no one can fail at this!

If you have been checking in you know I am working on My Powder Room.

It is small ... and I am gratefully telling you that I am almost done.  Now, I've done the whole start from scratch, fill every space, etc in past challenges. This time I am counting my blessings my furniture is only a sink and a toilet.  And I liked them both ... so they are staying.

Most of what I have been doing is what I like to call the Big Fluff ... important in a Powder Room, you know?

So back to my Cheer ...

By now you know I went from Brown to Shrimp to Black and White.
Well, seriously?  I need color.

This week it is all about Firecracker.  You know when you start painting something and you love it so much you just keep going ... and going.  Like the Energizer Bunny.

Well, I have a quart of Firecracker ... and maybe not the sexy legs ... but just the same I am feeling like I'm winning my own little Powder Room Game!!

Finishing touches and softness coming in next week.  Now go see what the rest of My Link Up friends are up to!

My Powder Room ... Week 3 ORC Link Up!

Time flies when you're having fun!  Here we are at Week 3 of the One Room Challenge Linking Party.  Things are shaping up!

First things first ... last week I posted this "mood board"

Like many of you ... I feel that the Pagoda mirror rocks.  Yes, it does.
It is NOT mine!  I only wish!
Brandy had this mirror and we chatted.  2 reasons I don't own it.
1.  Too Large for my Powder Room
2.  It was $1200.00 ... Don would kill me.  But the powder room would be pretty!!

So ... if you follow me on IG ... you know what I am working with instead!

Now ... here's what has been happening this week.

MOM!!  I need some toilet paper ...

Do you hear these words?  I can call it a Powder Room all day long.
It is a WorkHorse.
Christopher's main bathroom, the guest bathroom, the I can handle it all bathroom!
And we are always running out of toilet paper!

Some storage ideas ...

Image
While I was in Home Goods I spied this ... hmm ...

A little glossy white spray paint and I've got the prettiest TP holder on the block!

And yes, you spy my Stroheim black and white wallpaper!

I am in love with the way it looks and cannot wait to show you the rest of the details making this space SHINE!

Don't forget to pop over to Linda's and see all the other One Room Challenge Link Up Participants!

Powder Room - Week 2 ORC Link Up!

Week Two of Linda's ORC Link Up.

I hope you are following along the 20 designers and diy'ers she has on Wednesdays too!

Last week I showed you an inspiration photo.
Glamorous and Simple.

This week I bring my take on things.

The Road to My Design ...

1.  Pagoda Mirror.
2.  Firecracker Paint.
3.  Elephant Prints by our Friend Jennifer!
4. Leontine ... luxe hand towels!!
5.  Boxwoods ... I need green. For Balance.
6.  Gold Chevron Wastebasket.

When this powder room was evolving ... I wanted this:

This is when real decisions start to be made.  I REALLY wanted this Quadrille wallpaper which lead me to the hexagon floor.  I only needed 5 rolls of wallpaper.  This Q paper isn't stocked.  You have to special order it with a set up fee of $100.00 plus you have to purchase a minimum of 10 single rolls.

Yes, I probably could have found someone to buy the rest, or sat on it ... but couldn't justify basically doubling the price for the paper.

I had to sit back and re-group.  And as I did this mental re-grouping I found these 18X18  Thassos Marble tiles on special at my favorite tile store.

Ultimately I did make the decision to go for the large white tiles for several reasons.

The 18X18 tiles helped make the room seem larger.
Far better price,
I was so tired of the dark green flooring and this brought the light and shine!
And the new wallpaper I chose (check in next week!) looks dynamite with the white!

If you have a minute please visit me here.  Tiffany is doing a Fall thing ... I don't really decorate the inside for fall.  Not since the kids were really little and we had "Mr. Spooky" hanging from the ceiling to scare little costumed creatures knocking on the door!

So instead, Get inspired by beautiful White Farm Houses and Fall Foliage!

Thanks for stopping by and supporting me in the Link Up!

My Powder Room!

Y'all know I have been working on my Powder Room for a year.  Yes, a year.
A little bit of this, a little bit of that ... and it is still not complete.
Life gets busy and I just "sit there" and ignore it!!

So ... once again, with a little inspiration from Linda ... another room will get finished.
You can hear the Hallelujah Chorus coming from my little water closet!

I would like something PRETTY ... like this.

This is a little bit horrifying for Christopher, our son, because in a house full of girls he calls the Powder room HIS.  Well, except when we have guests!

But even he knows it will be better than how it began ...

While he is very comfortable in his 17 year old masculinity, the Victorian floral was a little frumpy even for him!

Quadrille fabrics have long held my heart ... and a little chinoiserie, of which I really have none in my house, seemed the perfect fit.

As I mentioned, this all started about a year ago ... so in the interim before I could pull the decision gun out and actually commit ... I painted the bathroom, trying to match the sick, not in a good way like our kids use the term, green/grey tile floor.

Bye bye victoria ...

New light fixture and grey walls and ceiling.  It was okay ... but BORING, snoozefest for the masses who use this room!

Please stop by next Thursday to see the TRUE inspiration for this room and follow along while I commit and get it done!

Lots of folks linking up ... pop over to get inspired!

Monday Morning Push!

Happy Monday and Thanks for hanging in with me!   ... the past few days have been kind of a whirlwind with family and Easter and wrapping up a couple of projects ... trying to get the finishing touches on.

I have been a horrible blog friend and haven't checked in on my favorites ... I am going to be busy catching up this week ... I know I have missed alot of creativity going on!

The Monday Morning Push is to wrap up a few projects.

So today, I am shopping to finish up an office space ... I showed you the Raw Space here.

This week the office Goes To Work!

Details like this ...

Spray Paint Is Coming out for some vase and dog transformation!

Texture and height for Bookshelves.

More Color and Punch.

This space wraps up today ... and I will bring you the full Before and After later this week!!

Then back at the home front.  Remember this?  Yep, my inspiration fabric and tile for my powder room.

I think this was over a year ago as well.  So it has changed!
I will always love this Quadrille pattern, and tried to order it in wallpaper.  Then I decided on Shrimp!
It is available, but only on a special order ... which costs more.  And when you order a special RUN, you have to have a minimum number of rolls.  I can justify alot of things.  But I just couldn't justify the cost involved for this little room.

So ... Plumber came, Toilet and sink are OUT for prepping walls and new floor!

Remnants of the past hiding behind the toilet!  I'll keep the new wallpaper a surprise (being hung on Tuesday!!).

Statuary White Marble Floor with Platinum Grout.  I am loving it.  I pass by and peek in.  Then have to run upstairs to actually use a bathroom.

Because, here is my Toilet!!

In the Family Room, in front of the fireplace and showing you my lanterns with Christmas balls still inside.  I just thought they were still adding a little sparkle.  I will remove them when the toilet goes!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter ... and if you don't celebrate I hope you enjoyed the Sunshine and birth of Springtime.  We head to the "Pond" in town every Easter for a Sunrise Service.  It is early ... but such a treat ...

Here's to tying up loose ends this week!  I feel pretty energized and ready to go as the weekend was full of Sunshine and Family celebration!

Powder Room ... Mirror dilemma!

Before ... try not to gasp!!

Now ... Wallpaper removed, walls smoothed, walls and mouldings painted, new light fixture so no one will bump their heads anymore!!

Here's what I want ... but can't have ...

It is too big ... so here's what I am contemplating:

Which would you choose?  I do love the "pop" of red of the Pagoda mirror against the grey walls ... I will bring on the Krylon Paint again if I need to!

And I'd like to add some of these ...

Leontine Linens

Decisions ...  Hope you make some good ones this week!

Kim
