Not your Momma's Blue and White!

Jennifer of The Pink Pagoda Fame is hosting a Blue and White Bash today.  She is asking all bloggers who love Blue and White to link up to her Blog and show their stuff!

Well ... y'all know me ... If I am going to have a little Blue and White ... it is going to have orange in play and also a punch!

So here's my "Not your Momma's Blue and White Story" ...

Bold Wallpaper, perhaps just on one focal wall, BOCA is my choice.  Then you have to join in on the Highly Saturated LACQUER Blue Walls.  And then with such Gloss, you have to have sleek WHITE.  I can see this board used in a bedroom, with two beautiful X-Benches at the foot of your bed covered in ORANGE zebra.  Of course to match the PAGODA mirror. Or then perhaps you would like this mood in your Dining Room and the fun DARYA fabric could grace your chairs.  Or back to a large round lumbar pillow on your bed.  Then the CHARTREUSE chair ... just because it looks hot.  And it mixes things up.  I like to mix things up.  And a nod to settle the whole damn look down, two arm SCONCES ... sleek and simple!

Pop over to TPP today and link up your favorite Blue and White ... or just see what is inspiring everyone else!

Finding My Summer Colors ...

I  hate to even bring this up.  But our Summer is going to be coming to an abrupt halt in the next two weeks ... Erin back to Auburn, Callie off to Bucknell and Christopher will be at Football camp prepping for a hopefully winning season for the DS Raiders!

Sammy will be the only one truly still on vacation until the end of August.  I am going to see if she'll let me hang out with her.

I have loved taking some time off with my kids and truly reveling in the warm weather.

During this time off, I discovered new colors in my life ...

1.  Soft purple hues found in my Rose of Sharon.
2.  Coral and blues together in this Scarf Top.
3.  The Streets of Lewisburg, Pa. Bucknell Road Trip
4.  $1.00 samples of Trina Turk and Schumacher Fabrics. Whoop Whoop!
5. Mirror Love.  Coming Home.
6.  Chair Makeover - Trina Turk "Pool" Love.
7.  The Simplicity of a White Clapboard House with Black Shutters.  Love.
8.  Fun Jewelry sporting my New Blue Addiction.
9.  Corn popping up in Rows.  Summer's finest.

What are you finding out about yourself this summer?

There's a Fire Burning in my Heart!

The Flame Stitch ... it has been around forever ... and it keeps burning!  Perhaps it was Missoni Fashion that pushed the envelope this summer when they introduced their line at Target ... perhaps it has always been a backbone of design ... whatever it is ... it is Back, it is Here and it is Now.  Fresher than Ever!

Then:

Now:

In my opinion ... 2012 is the year of color.  With Tangerine Tango and Ikat and the Flame Stitch ... If you want to "spiff" up a little this year ... throw in a pillow or two in these Schumacher fabrics and you will be the talk of the neighborhood!!

A Study in ... Silver

One of my current projects is for a feminine study ... yes, a place where my client can do her work, coordinate kids' and husband's schedules and take care of life for her family!   As we have been looking around together at fabrics and rugs I have fallen in love with Silver!  I tend to gravitate toward warm colors ... but have found that while I originally felt grey was cold, it does not have to be.  It can be bold, soft, masculine and feminine.  "Upping" it just a little bit to silver adds that touch of glam that I love!!

Schumacher has just introduced the Modern Glamour Collection ... these wallcoverings are scrumptious!  You can "feel" the texture of them without a single touch. They are over the top, yet subtle!

Beaded Damask - Zinc

Greek Key Sisal - Silver

Chevron Texture - Mineral

You can find more of these beautiful wallcoverings at Schumacher ... fall in love with something Silver!
