I am not a cook ... never pretended to be. However, there are a few things I love and can't get enough of ... one of these is Figs. Where were the figs when I was growing up? Did my Mother buy them and I turned my nose up? Did she hide them from me because she wanted every sweet bite to be hers alone? I will have to ask her about this when I speak to her today.
But here's the thing ... I was at the grocery today. Fresh Figs are only there for maybe three minutes. I found them today ... but they were $2.00 ... for EACH fig!!
I am thinking my Mother hid them!
I'll be stopping back in today to grab a couple and I'll just eat them ... sorry kids!!

We had a fig tree in our backyard , but I had it removed because neighbors kept hinting around about wanting figs, and we could tell that people were in our backyard when we weren't home! Nobody at my house is a huge fig fan, so we decided it was more trouble than it was worth for is. But we thought it was so funny that figs had so a big draw that our lovely neighbors would go to such lengths!
